We believe that excellence in patient care includes a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary appraoch to
diagnosing and treating digestive diseases and cancers. By bringing together a team of cross-disciplinary
specialists to diagnose and treat a single problem, we eliminate the need for a patient to seek out separate
opinions from various branches of medical sciences.
Gastroenterologists, hepatologists, liver transplant surgeons, gastrointestinal tumor surgeons,
gastrointestinal pathologists, and gastrointestinal radiologists all come together in a single session, in
a single location, to discuss the correct diagnosis and best possible treatment plan for a patient. Through
this process, the patient is offered a fully researched, definitive recommendation.
A multi-disciplinary approach to patient care reduces anxiety and any chance of misinformation or
misinterpretation. It greatly increases patient confidence and allows for a strong, professional bond to
develop between patient and doctor. This approach is also cost effective and efficient. In addition to the
benefits to our patients, this approach greatly increases expertise, experience and cross-fertilization
amongst our group of specialists. This team process builds excellence, skill and confidence, paving the way
for insight and innovation.
