Dr. Chey received his MD degree and training in internal medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Pasricha received his MD from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1982. Subsequently he trained in internal medicine and pulmonology at Georgetown University-DC General Hospital and

Thereafter he trained in gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and then stayed on the faculty at Johns Hopkins University, as Director of Therapeutic Endoscopy at Johns Hopkins Hospital and as Associate Director of the Marvin Schuster Center for Gastrointestinal Motility. In 1997, Dr. Pasricha assumed leadership of the GI Division at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he held the Bassel and Frances Blanton Distinguished Professorship in Internal Medicine and. He is also an attending physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr Howden graduated in medicine from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in 1978 and was trained in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and clinical pharmacology at the University of Glasgow and McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. Dr. Ciclitira was an undergraduate at St. Bartholomew's Hospital London, qualifying in 1971. Over the next six years his career steadily advanced though a series of positions at St. Bartholomew's, Rochford Hospital, Essex, The Royal Marsden Hospital, Surrey and Addenbrokes Hospital Cambridge. In 1977 he progressed his training, successfully completing an MD followed by a PhD at the MRC laboratory of Molecular Biology Cambridge. Accreditation in general medicine and gastroenterology followed in 1982. From Senior Registrar at Guy's Hospital London, he was appointed in 1983 as a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at both Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. He was appointed Professor of Gastroenterology in 1994 where he continues to practice. Dr. Ciclitira is the Head of the Department of Gastroenterology (GKT) Research Unit at St Thomas' Hospital where he specialises in malabsorption including coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and peptic ulcer. Internationally renown as author of over 250 clinical and scientific publications, Professor Ciclitira lectures worldwide.
