Seattle Cancer Care Alliance |
|
The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is a multispecialty oncology center that operates a large clinic, a day-hospital,
and in-patient services. The SCCA brings together the best of three internationally renowned cancer care institutions:
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine, and Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center. The SCCA
offers a variety of treatment options, designed from the latest research findings, for malignant and non-malignant diseases.
Patients are referred by consultations from Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Gynecologic Oncology. One of the
services is the hematopoietic stem cell transplant program for patients with otherwise incurable malignancies. Faculty
members specialize in intestinal and liver problems common to oncology patients everywhere. Long-term survivors have a high
prevalance of chronic liver disease as well as immunologic abnormalities that predispose to intestinal problems.
